Hurricane Harvey Check-In

Aug 29 | Posted by: Rebecca Loebe |

Hi guys, just wanted to give a quick update for friends and family around the globe who have checked in to see how I'm faring in the wake of Harvey: I am safe, dry and completely fine. You are so sweet to ask. I love you.

I'm on tour in Michigan right now, watching the news in horror right alongside you. Austin, where I live, is quite far from Houston and the southern coast of Texas, where the eye of the storm made landfall. Sounds like the rainstorm over the weekend was incredibly intense. From what I've heard there has been some flooding, some power outages and a lot of tree limbs down.

News from Houston and the coast is, obviously, far worse. I've heard from many friends and some family members today who were flooded out of their homes. Some are facing total loss. The loved ones that I have been in touch with are in high spirits, grateful to be safe and working to help their neighbors. Humans are amazing.

I'm texting with friends back home to organize and see how we can be most helpful. For now, I've donated what I can to the Red Cross and here is a list of organizations that could use your support.

Thanks again for checking in.

Sending you so much love.

PS: My good friend Dan Grissom (aka the graphic designer of Blink, Vittles & Valentines, the Blink coloring book and all the shirts on my current merch table) is contributing $5 from every online sale of his Texas enamel pin (pictured above) to The Houston Food Bank and Austin Pets Alive.
